Leith Community Pottery Relocation

For some time now there has been a question mark over the long term future of the lease at the current site and an opportunity has arisen to relocate to a new site at West Granton.

As a result, The Pottery is now in the process of moving to The Pitt, 20 West Shore Rd, Granton, Edinburgh EH5 1QD.

This is an amazing, developing site which currently houses a Street Food market, an outdoor sauna, gym, Parcour course and events venue.

There are currently several artisans in residence and more to come.

The new space is larger, comprising a single room and offers the opportunity to create a workshop on a completely blank canvass. A massive undertaking, but very exciting!

The transition has already begun and it’s a huge operation.

All the electrics require upgrading and the strip lights will be replaced. Plumbing work is underway, fitting my dream, industrial sink.

I expect the whole process to take several weeks but hope to be operational by the end of September ’25.

Until things are clearer, I won’t be advertising any courses, workshops or tuition sessions, but I’ll keep things updated via the Blog, the Newsletter and social media.

Of course, all of this upheaval is costly both in outlay and in lost income, due to the current “hibernation” of the business.

I’ll shortly be launching a crowdfunder with Crowdfunder UK and the details will be shared, again here and on social media.

There will be Gift Vouchers in the Rewards Scheme and all support will be much appreciated.

I’ll be sharing a commentary on the design and development of the new studio, explaining choices and decisions.
